About this Site

My name is Anne Warfield and I am a pre-school teacher at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri.  This past December (2006), I attended a concert performed by the African Children’s Choir at my church and was very moved by the children’s performances and stories.  Shortly afterwards, my church announced that they were looking for someone to travel with a mission team to Zambia, to visit the country’s orphaned and vulnerable children.  As a mother, it seemed like a natural decision.  So, with the support of my family…

Mission TeamI traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, Africa on May 23, 2007. The mission team included seven individuals from five states — Missouri, Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina and Washington. We visited three crisis nurseries and ten Faith Works Schools, run by the Christian Alliance for Children – Zambia (CACZ). Although I was the only member of my congregation to travel with the team, two other members of my congregation had traveled previously with this organization. It was an eye-opening and moving experience… “life-changing” as the saying goes.

Many family members, friends and acquaintances have asked to see my photos and to hear more about the experience. My friend, Gretchen Floresca, had the wonderful idea to set up a web site to help me share this experience. Gretchen just happens to own an advertising firm – Werremeyer-Floresca – and offered to help set up the site. Thank you so much Gretchen… and thank you to Dan Rashid, the web designer who actually met with me, did the set-up work and trained me to manage the site.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my photos and entries. Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments. Thanks for visiting this site!
